Hi all,

I'm trying to start my hosting business, I know it's not going to be a rich quick scheme or easy money, but I think it can be really helpful for my freelancing software company.

I was thinking to start by selling VPS with cPanel configured for WordPress hosting. I see a huge demand for WordPress hosting. I'm going to start with a good price & quality and also use Google Ads for advertisement. also, I have to mention, that I'm not a Linux expert, I'm planning to hire someone for all of these Linux tasks.

So what is your advice guys that help me to grow faster and get the first 100 customers or at least some marketing tactics that help me don't burn my money?

What was your experience when you were starting?

How many customers do you have currently & how long does it take to achieve 1,000 customers?

  • Reseller hosting is becoming increasingly popular for new entrepreneurs starting their own hosting business. Here are some reasons why reseller hosting will be best for you:
    1. You can easily customize your hosting experience to meet your specific needs.
    2. There are many reputable and affordable reseller hosts available, so you're sure to find one that works well with your budget.
    3. Reseller hosting provides you with the flexibility to run your own business however you want, without having to worry about the underlying infrastructure or technology of the host provider.
    4. Since reseller hosting is typically subscription-based, there's always a discount available for new customers.
    5. And finally, reseller hosting gives you plenty of control over your data - meaning you can safely store any important information on a hosted server without worrying about security breaches or data loss.

Starting your own hosting business can be a daunting task, but with the right marketing strategies it can be a success. Here are some tips to help you get started:
    1. Create a brand that is recognizable and appealing to potential customers. Make sure your logo, website design, and promotional materials are top-notch.
    2. Develop a strong social media presence. Use platforms like Twitter and Facebook to reach out to potential customers and promote your services.
    3. Build an inventory of unique hosting packages that appeal to different types of customers. Offer discounts for early customers, and make sure your pricing is consistent across all packages you offer.
    4. Utilize targeted advertising campaigns that focus on specific demographics or interests of your target market. For example, if you specialize in WordPress hosting, advertise in magazines catering to web developers or bloggers.

@JanentWatson@22 Thank you for the advice. It looks easy to start a hosting business with reseller hosting but getting customers is a very hard task. I think we can start with local customers too as there is less competition in local areas.

Yes, Reseller Hosting is a good choice, but most of provider sale Reseller Hosting in share hosting environment, in order to give best service to your customers, VPS with dedicated IP is a first choice, & in VPS you will have more control than the share reseller hosting.

Reseller hosting is an growingly popular method to enter the web hosting business . Individuals and organizations can buy up server space at hosting platforms which will then be sold on to their own third-party clients.

There are many ways to market your hosting company. First register with Web hosting forums and post your products. Then go to social media and start posting. Use Videos to attract prospects from video platforms like YouTube, Facebook, etc. Videos are most preferred type of content now a days. Best of luck!

Starting a web hosting business can be a profitable venture, but it requires careful planning and execution. Here are some steps you can take to get started:

Research the market: Before starting a web hosting business, it's important to research the market to understand the competition, pricing, and customer needs.

Choose a niche: There are many different types of web hosting businesses, such as shared hosting, VPS hosting, dedicated hosting, and reseller hosting. Choose a niche that aligns with your skills and interests.

Choose a platform: Decide on a platform that you'll use to manage your web hosting business. Popular options include cPanel, Plesk, and WHMCS.

Choose a pricing model: Consider different pricing models, such as flat-rate pricing or tiered pricing based on resource usage. Determine how you will handle billing and payments.

Build a website: Your web hosting business needs a professional website that showcases your services and makes it easy for customers to sign up.

Create a support system: Your customers will need support with their hosting accounts, so create a system for providing technical support and customer service.

Getting a few customers is easy, but getting 1000 customers requires dedication and regularity.

After starting your company, focus on advertising and SEO. If your company is listed on google's #1 page for a relevant keyword, then you can get 1k customers within a few years.

Advertise on social media, email and blog marketing. Tie up with forums and blogs to advertise.

Quite Insightful. My opinion would just start and figure out things as you progress. Have two rules in mind
    1. Find customers
    2. Don't Lose Customers
