Yes, but a managed server is more expensive than a non-managed one. Is there an average solution?Security is a real concern here. If you're thinking to buy unmanaged server then It is your responsibility to keep your website updated and secure. you are also responsible for installing and maintaining the webserver software requires to run your website.
If you buy a managed server then all the server related services managed by the service provider and you can focus on your business as said in the previous reply.
If you have installed a few software in past and can devote a few hours to your unmanaged server then their is no much difference in managed and unmanaged servers. You can search and make a list of software that are required for security, server status check, and data management. You will need to install 3 to 5 tools on your server and it becomes even better than managed one. Don't forget to set auto backup of your data at different server/PC. Set login attempt failure limit and it more secure than managed one.Yes, but a managed server is more expensive than a non-managed one. Is there an average solution?
