  • A virtual private server (commonly abbreviated to VPS) is created when a physical server is divided into smaller, virtual compartments. Just like a dedicated server, a virtual private server has its own operating system, dedicated storage, and dedicated RAM and CPU resource but it costs much less than a dedicated server.
let's talk about how to set up a VPS!
Step 1: Learn How to Log into Your VPS via Secure Shell (SSH) Access.
    Step 2: Update Your Server.
Step 3: Create a New User and Modify Its Privileges.
Step 4: Enable Public Key Authentication.
Step 5: Set Up a Firewall for Your VPS.

Cool Things You Can Do With A VPS
    1. Create A Private Sync Service. We all love Dropbox: I know it makes my life easier.
    2. Deploy A Personal Cloud.
    3. Encrypt Your Wireless Connections.
    4. Run Private Analytics.
    5. Manage Your Projects.
    6. Develop And Test Your Code.
    7. Manage Your IoT Devices.
    8. Run a VOIP Server.

    Hope this information Helps!
    Regards,
    Lewis

VPS Hosting is the undisputed middle weight in the world of web hosting. More robust than shared hosting, and more flexible than a Dedicated Server, Virtual Private Servers are rapidly growing in popularity amongst even corporate clientele in the form of Cloud VPS. With High Availability options, VPS Hosting has expanded into the mainstream and can satisfy the needs of any webmaster.

    Benefits of VPS Hosting

    Cost Savings
    Disaster Recovery
    Scalability
    Root Access

VPS are simple server hosted on an operating system of a physical hardware. The VPS shares the hardware resources of the physical server along with other VPS servers created on the same host.

The common free virtualized technologies are OPenVZ,XEN,KVM, which are different in their architecture and resource sharing type.
Since VPS is sharing the hardware it will not be as powerful as standalone bare metal dedicated server so it can be suited only for small type businesses which needs an isolated environment and less power.

It very easy to create VPS server as it doesn't requires any hardware to be provisioned. VPS migration and revovery is very easy as the VPS is created and everything is isolated under folders.

  • Now that businesses have grown and expanded their online presence they like more facilities but most are not yet ready to afford, nor do they really need dedicated servers. An ideal compromise here is a virtual private server (VPS), which brings dedicated server like features at a far lower cost.

A virtual server is created through software for the individual customer. It runs on a particular computer but there may be a number of such virtual private servers working from the same machine, though not substantially. A virtual machine that works as a server is generated with its own distinct and allotted RAM and hardware resources.

The actual server accomplishes the guest or virtual private servers, which mimics an actual PC. Resources are allocated to the virtual private servers, beyond which they cannot have any access. To all intents and purposes the virtual machine formed deliberates these virtual resources as its own resources and uses them as a self-regulating computer system would. The host maps or translates virtual requests. The server which runs virtual private servers required to be very quick with a high amount of RAM, diskspace and resources to reply to virtualization requests and translate professionally and rapidly. Modern day expert servers that have CPUs that can support virtualization, meet these specs making VPS easy and inexpensive.

Thus, if you are considering for a web hosting that delivers clustering capacities, allowing customers to move information clearly among servers then virtual private server hosting is finest for you.
